ForestTECH 2024 – A global showcase of innovation and collaboration

4 December 2024

ForestTECH 2024 once again delivered a blockbuster event, drawing over 200 delegates to FIEA’s highly anticipated year-end technology series. This premier event, held across New Zealand and Australia, has been a cornerstone of the forestry technology calendar since 2007. ForestTECH continues to provide an independent platform for exploring cutting-edge advancements in remote sensing, data capture, inventory management, and precision silviculture. One of its defining strengths remains the industry-wide willingness to share insights from in-forest trials and commercial operations, fostering collaboration and progress.

This year’s event attracted forestry professionals from a remarkable array of countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Finland, Sweden, South Africa, the USA, UK, Canada, Chile, Malaysia, and Thailand. Their participation reaffirmed ForestTECH’s growing reputation as a leading international forum for forestry innovation.

Since 2020, the event has effectively merged two key themes—new data collection technologies for forest estate reporting and precision forestry innovations, such as mechanised planting and tree crop management—into a unified, comprehensive program. ForestTECH 2024 upheld this successful format, balancing diverse content and reflecting the priorities of its attendees.

In addition to the insightful conference sessions, ForestTECH featured a dynamic exhibition space and interactive workshops, offering delegates hands-on opportunities to explore the latest tools and techniques shaping the future of forestry.

We wish to thank all our ForestTECH 2024 speakers, partners, sponsors, attendees and wider ForestTECH community. This continued support has been an essential component in the success of ForestTECH.
