Video: A look back at logging from the 1930s

This is a 1971 color film made by Bert van Bork entitled “The Lumberman” was part of the “Our Changing Way of Life” series of films released by Encyclopedia Brittanica. The film looks at the seachanges that have come to the timber and logging industries (and more were to come as the environmental movement was in a nascent stage at the time this film was made). The film discusses the past and present of the life of a forest worker and not only how these workers’ lives have changed, but how the industry treats the forests themselves.
