What is Carbon Forestry?
Carbon Forestry brings together forest owners, investors, corporate emitters, policymakers and industry leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping forestry as an investment and climate asset.
With more than 250 industry leaders, corporate emitters and investors attending in person and online in 2026, the event has become an important meeting point for those wanting to understand where the sector is heading. As forestry takes an increasingly important role in New Zealand’s response to climate change, the landscape around carbon, the ETS, markets and investment continues to evolve.
While carbon sequestration and plantation forestry remain central to the programme, since 2023 the conference has also explored the emergence of natural capital as a broader investment opportunity. Speakers bring insights into global trends, biodiversity, nature-based credits and emerging local projects, alongside perspectives from leading experts in New Zealand and overseas.
