Event Summary
In August 2025, over 300 industry leaders, corporate emitters and investors attended Carbon Forestry 2025 in Rotorua, New Zealand and virtually online. This annual event has become the place to meet and learn about what’s happening in this expanding investment class.
Forestry plays an essential part in New Zealand’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and the Hon Simon Watts, Minister of Climate Change, reinforced the new Government’s commitment to the sector. Other keynotes included Michael Barbara, Executive Director from Campbell Global, Australia; Spencer Meyer, Chief Ratings Officer, BeZero Carbon from the USA & Amber Bill from Te Uru Rakau – NZ Forest Service. Other talks came from NZ Carbon Farming, MinterEllisonRuddWatts, NZFOA, Marex, Interpine, PF Olsen & Ekos Forever Forests.
