HarvestTECH News Summary – July 2024

This month, we start with the launch of North America’s premier forestry event, the Canadian Woodlands Forum’s DEMO International®, which returns to Quebec this September, promising a spectacular showcase of cutting-edge forestry equipment. Also in Canada, DC Equipment is celebrating the revival of Madill logging equipment production in British Columbia.

A University of Tasmania study has revealed a troubling rise in the frequency and intensity of extreme bushfires, attributed to climate change, emphasising the urgent need for global environmental action.

In transportation, BHP and Rio Tinto are leading the charge towards a greener future by testing battery-electric haul trucks in Australia’s Pilbara region and Tasmania has backed their first major hydrogen fuel producer, Countrywide Hydrogen. Similarly, New Zealand is set to welcome its first long-range electric trucks through a collaboration between Windrose Technology and Etrucks® and Kenworth has unveiled their futuristic SuperTruck 2.
