ForestTECH News Summary – July 2024

This month we have the newly released ForestTECH 2024’s programmes. Details on the content and coverage for the 20-21 November Rotorua, NZ event and 26-27 November 2024 event running in Melbourne, Australia the week after, can now be found on the ForestTECH 2024 website

In news, Scion’s Virtual Thinning project is leveraging virtual reality for creating safer and more efficient forestry training and there is a reminder to participate in MPI’s National Exotic Forest Description survey, which is essential for providing future wood availability forecasts and economic statistics – responses are due by 31 July 2024. Additionally, nominations for the FRESTRA Young Forester of the Year Award are now open, a University of Tasmania study has revealed the alarming increase in extreme bushfires due to climate change and the Forest Flows Research Programme at last week’s Environmental Forestry 2024 revealed new data.

Also check out Rocket Lab’s record-breaking launch deal with Synspective, Kelluu’s use of hydrogen-powered airships to monitor forest health and Kea Aerospace’s milestone in autonomous flight technology. Finally, this month’s we are hosting Residues2Revenues 2024.
